The FRENZEL JF - 5E11 "Vibrolux Plus  was inspired by the classic vintage Fender 5E11 Fender Vibrolux circuit with the great 60's Tremolo  sounds...but it is much more than that.

The original 5E11 had a single tone control and that really limited it's tonal spectrum. This has been corrected by adding a 3-Band tone stack similar to the one used on the Twin and Bassman amps. This tone stack will allow you to get just about any kind of sound you want. To further enhance the tones a Bright pull-switch has been added on the Gain control for Bright tones at low Gain settings. We have also added a Master Level control that allows you to crank the Gain control up and overdrive the preamp without overdriving the output tube. This creates even more tones. Another mod which broadens the use of the amp is the installation of a post output trannie Line Output Jack which allows you to use this amp as an effects box....or to drive a higher power amp with. If you unplug the speaker, an internal  load is automatically connected across the output whic gives you loaded output tube distortion. Other added features of the amp include, an extra long ( 10' ) three prong grounded power cord, classic knobs, classic jewel pilot light, and a Chrome Standby and Power toggle switches. The trannies are also special...we selected a Hammond power trannie. Hammonds are known for their reliability and overdesign. For the output trannie, we chose a Fender replacement to give you that original classic Fender sound.

The tube line up is a 5Y3 rectifier,  12AX7 Preamp, 12AX7 Driver/Tremolo and a pair of  6V6's in the output.

The front panel controls are 1/4" Input jack,  Gain Control with Bright switch, Bass control, Mid Control, Treble control, Speed Control, Depth Control, Master control, Standby Switch,  On/Off  switch. The rear panel has a 1/4" Speaker (8 ohm) Output jack, 1/4" Line Out jack,  Tremolo Pedal Jack, and Primary Power Fuse and Secondary Power Fuse.

We checked the amp on the bench and on speakers. It puts out a solid 15  watts with the 6V6's. The sound is clean and crisp and develops three distinct types of  crunch and distortion depending on whether you are overdriving the preamp tubes, output tubes, or both. The three band tone stack provides a wide EQ range and creates the unique Fender sound of the early production tube amps. The Tremolo controls provide the unique vintage "swinging bias" vibe rhythmic sounds.

The amp is very compact. It is built on a 12"x 8"x 2" aluminum chassis. The chassis has a bottom cover plate with rubber feet. This is a rock solid point-to-point hand wired amp that uses only the best of parts...low noise tubular polypropylenes caps, metal film resistors, ceramic sockets, etc.  It comes with a  Tremolo footswitch pedal.
